Travel & Stay
getting
here
PDX is the closest and easiest (not to mention the best!) airport. Upon arrival, we recommend getting a Lyft or Uber into town rather than taking public transit.
Fun fact: Restaurants at PDX are required to charge the same as they would outside of the airport! So if you’re getting off of a long flight or about to get on one, definitely grab an airport drink or bite. There’s lot of great, local, reasonably priced spots—we especially recommend Blue Star and Screen Door. PDX also has a free movie theater that shows local shorts!
If you wanted to fit another city into your trip, you could fly into Seattle and take the train (~4 hours) or drive down (~3 hours) to Portland.
Where to stay
We recommend staying at an AirBnB; they tend to be a bit more affordable than hotels here and usually offer plenty of options.
As far as neighborhoods go, we think you might enjoy staying in Southeast, which is close to the venue, or Northeast, which is still just a short Uber ride away.
If you’d prefer to stay at a hotel, here are some of our recommendations:

What to do
We love Portland and hope you do too (aka we’ve gone completely overboard on recommendations).
Check out our map of activities throughout the city - everything from restaurants to cafes, bars to breweries, hikes to unique shops. If you find that too overwhelming, check back here this spring for a list of our top recommendations.
